Top ten bands/artists of the modern age?

The 90's had some of the best artists of our time, and they gave way to the 2000's which now have some even more talented artists. So who are the best? Now I'm talking about the best in musical charisma, music writing, and lyrics. Feel free to list rap artists as well. My list would consist of Oasis, The Stokes, The Shins, Brand New, Modest Mouse, Mars Volta, Beck, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sufjan Stevens, Vampire Weekend. Like I said, I'm looking for opinions, but so long as you can back your list with legitimate reasons for listing an artist I'm open-minded. For instance, I could make a case for Eminem, I just don't feel like he makes my list.
